Subject: Finally on my own machine
Hello Tom,

I am nearing completion of my personal machine build and want to try moving some motors.

I have been able to move a stepper with my gecko 203v's before per our conversation last June::

chan0 = 8 (lvttl for gecko)
no input (0)
stepdir out (8)

P=1,I=0,D=0

.

I remember this setup working but now all the motor will do is violently oscillate....(and I tried the trim pot)

I get no smooth motion at any speed.

Any clue what these symptoms mean?

Thanks for your time,

Brad Murry

Hello Tom,

Turns out it was line noise in one of my connectors...

Wired it directly and it runs perfect.

Then I checked the connector on the cabinet and I got some faint continuity between two of the pins.

Thanks,
Brad Murry
